In modern civilization, each individual is developing in a state of division. Hermann Hesse's work "Narzis und Gottmund" expressed the division and unity of human beings as individuals, to him it was the contradiction between the desire for secular life and the higher spiritual realm. Hesse attempted to pursue happiness in the harmony and unity of the two.  Self-consistency is a state of spirit that requires cultivation and sacrifice to pursue. As Hesse said, " God makes people lonely in a variety of ways so that we can go to ourselves."

The MAYALI AW23 series attempts to express the spiritual self-consistency advocated in Hermann Hesse's universe.  Continuing the brand’s geometric thinking in terms of fabrics and tailoring, the collection presents the spiral structure and rhombus pattern in three dimension, as well as silver swallow-clip accessory and clip-shape boots to illumine different gloss and textures of materials with applications of polka dots printing and jacquard. The combination imples the delight from the interlacing of brightness and darkness under the theme of Solitude, This season also applies the brand's classic deconsturctive techniques such as inside-outside flipping and geometric rotation into the combination of different materials and categories. Through the rational and delicate design language, it reveals an image of a romantic, ingenous and self-consistent individual under the comprehension of MAYALI.

The Spiral of Silence describes the phenomenon that when people express their opinion which is shared by the majority, they will actively communicate. However, when people notice that the opinion is not accepted by the majority, they often choose to be silent. In this repeating cycle of silence, the opinions of the majorityeventually form a powerful force, while the ideas of the minority continue to bemuted or even disappear.

To illustrate the theme of this season, MAYALI takes the highly developedindustrialization and commercialization of the 1960s as the breakthrough point, and extracts polka dots and geometric figures to create patterns. Combined with the spiral cutting technique and spiral-shaped pattern, the collection attempts to express the phenomenon of young people caught in the numbness of the stress-maelstrom under the digital economy in contemporary society. By applying the mesh-like knitting in different structures to products such as shirts, sweaters, dress and down jackets, this collection continues to show the calm and orderly beauty that MAYALI has always longed for. Buttons are replaced by metal latch hooks, combined with oriental stand-collars, expressing a calm and unflustered female image. Integrating the loose and thick cocoon-shaped double-sided coat and woolen fabrics with eco-friendly fur, it seeks to create a female character with a spirit of justice, self-purification and a hint of playfulness.
